MY STORY

I ENGINEERED MY WAY INTO DESIGN.

I ENGINEERED MY WAY INTO DESIGN.

Like most Indian students, I began my career journey with engineering. My day involved working with Programmable Logic Controllers and Neural Networks. In my Sophomore year, I had the sudden inspiration to try something new, which led me to making my own short film. The experience awakened the creative in me and I wanted more. My undergraduate years were spent exploring this new side of me through sketching, video editing and designing.

I finally embraced the creative when I came to the USA to do my Master’s in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Maryland. Since then, I have worked on several design projects in both lab and industry settings; researching new solutions to complex problems, designing user-friendly interfaces and testing systems to improve on them. I became passionate about advocating for my users while learning about them through the user-centered design process of researching, prototyping, and testing. I have interacted with a wide range of users, honing my skill to effectively communicate to both design and non-design audiences.

My design approach includes asking the right questions and doing ample research before diving in trying to solve problems. I test my designs often, through various levels of fidelity to finally create products which people love. My skills include UX Design, UX Research and Visual Design. My experience with research and design tools include, but are not limited to Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Adobe Premier Pro, InVision, Gephi, Hotjar and Qualtrics.
